“Our facility is a 110,000-square-foot operations center for Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania. We get between 1.2 to 1.5 million pounds of material a day, and tonnage increases significantly during the summer. The Komar auger has increased daily soft trash, wood pallets, and general trash efficiency by 30% and 40% with furniture. I love to give shock-and-awe tours to show off the Komar Auger, which compacts 8.5 to 9 tons into each payload.”
Bob Kagle, Director of Retail Logistics, Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania
“Since installing our Komar Auger, we have improved our operations tremendously. The auger units have reduced labor from six people down to one person, who oversees the conveyor lines and compactors. We have gone from a 2-ton payload to a 10-ton-plus payload, per 40-yard container, reducing our annual pull charges by over 75%. We have less downtime and have eliminated jams due to the slow operation of the old compactors. Best of all, we had less than a one-year return on investment.”
John Hefty, Operations Manager, GameStop
“We estimate that the Komar Auger has saved us 1,300 hours of labor per year, has reduced our hauling cost by two-thirds, and has given La-Z-Boy a safer process and more floor space.”
Troy Kvingedal, Facilities Supervisor, La-Z-Boy
Some waste streams refuse to behave—bulky loads rebound, voids form, and inconsistent materials disrupt flow. Where conventional systems struggle, dual-screw augers with recirculators make processing uncooperative materials look easy.

Our solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of a wide range of industries, including:
Wooden crates, pallets and spools, furniture, home appliances, and other bulky, irregularly shaped waste can be processed by the dual screw with recirculator auger.
Material flow varies based on the material being processed, the incoming chamber size, and the displacement rate of each individual machine. While we do provide a range in the specs for each machine, these are averages based on typical products. Our sales team is equipped to help you select the right machine based on your specific processing needs.
Displacement varies by model, ranging from five tons per hour up to 20 tons per hour.
Bulky materials require a chamber that can accept large items and high power for compaction at the discharge. Dual auger systems with a recirculator focus compaction at a single outlet, while a recirculator auger keeps large pieces moving back through the chamber for continued breakdown and higher compaction efficiency.
Items can be fed by hand, conveyor, chute, forklift, or tipper.
Our standard auger operates on 480 V, 3PH, 60 Hz with other options available. The minimum required breaker size will vary based on model and can range from 130-350 amps.
Maintenance frequency depends on usage, material type, and operating hours. Chains and bearings are automatically lubricated to reduce the need for maintenance. Components such as auger flights, bearings, and chains should be regularly inspected for wear. We offer Preventative Maintenance programs to ensure the equipment remains in optimal working condition.
Material type, dimensions, and density all play a factor in auger capacity. Dual auger with recirculator augers are sized to handle bulky and oversized materials of many types. In fact, our models can handle pallets and crates with up to 144” x 84” bases and spools up to 96” in diameter.
We are a waste solutions company. With a wide array of application-specific models and advanced engineering capabilities, we look forward to guiding you to the best solution for the job.

When waste behaves erratically—bulky items rebound, voids form, and mixed materials disrupt flow—you need more than standard compaction. Dual Augers equipped with integrated Recirculators ensure every piece of material is broken down, redirected, and fully compacted, delivering consistent performance even under the harshest conditions.
Why Add a Recirculator?
A Recirculator prevents material from rising above or escaping the augers. Instead, waste is continuously reintroduced into the compaction path, eliminating voids and optimizing density. This setup excels in environments with:
Key Advantages of Dual Augers with Recirculators
Total Material Control
Waste is redirected until fully processed, ensuring complete destruction and eliminating rebound.
Maximum Compaction Density
Increased pressure and zero voids produce denser containers, reducing hauling, and lowering operating costs.
Faster Throughput
Even under surge conditions, continuous recirculation maintains steady flow—ideal for high-volume operations.
Continuous, Low-Intervention Operation
With minimal operator involvement, these systems increase uptime and improve safety. They can integrate with conveyor-fed autoloaders for fully autonomous operation, eliminating manual breakdown and loading.
Built for Longevity
Frames, shafts, and flighting are engineered for heavy-duty performance. Reliability is foundational, not optional.
These systems require significant upfront investment. However, the payoff can be rapid. Dense compaction reduces disposal frequency and costs. Automation cuts labor expenses. Rugged construction lowers maintenance and replacement costs. Combined, these benefits drive measurable savings and long-term efficiency.
Consider Dual Augers with Recirculators when:
For facilities facing unpredictable and complex waste streams, this system offers unmatched control, efficiency, and durability, turning the most challenging material into a manageable process.
